"He worked himself hard to heal so quickly. What's amazing is how rapidly he progressed…what an incredibly positive attitude he had.

He was open-minded to try different alternative medicines yet being cautious at the same time…not trying to walk, not using pain killers or drugs and never complaining about pain. Just commenting on how small his legs were getting, and how much he would like a date…

I took him to physical therapy three times a week. It was always a chore getting him down the stairs. We would tip the wheelchair on its back wheels and slowly roll him down the stairs. Which is fine 'till we got to the 90 degree turn at the landing. We'd tip it all the way back 'till both his legs were straight up, lean onto the inside wheel and drop and turn at the same time. Later, he would support his own weight and shimmy himself down on the railing.

What stands out about Myles is how humble he is as a person. Other people at his level are happy to have that I'm-the-man persona, which is actually a facade to hide insecurities. Myles never plays up on how good he is."
